Maya Corneille, PhD


Associate Professor of Psychology, North Carolina A&T University

Dr. Corneille's research and programmatic interests are in HIV prevention among African American men and women. Along with her faculty appointment as an Associate Professor at NC A&T University, she is also a visiting professor for the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies, University of California, San Francisco, California. Dr. Corneille has published several papers on the topics of ethnic identity, gender roles, masculinity, and positive youth development. She was also a recipient of an Office of Women’s Health funded grant on HIV prevention among students at HBCU’s. Dr. Corneille is also a poet and an author of the book, I Went Back, a collection of poems and short stories.
