Dr. Wendy Kliewer is a professor of psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University and an associate coordinator of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program at VCU, a Fulbright Exchange Activity. Dr. Kliewer’s current projects reflect a commitment to helping launch the careers of current and former students and mentees, faculty in the beginning stages of their careers and individuals in low- and middle-income countries with a desire to improve their research skills. Dr. Kliewer’s research interests center on the broad theme of risk and resilience, with much of her work specifically examining substance use and misuse in early, middle and late adolescence as an outcome.
Dr. Kliewer earned her Ph.D. in social ecology from the University of California, Irvine, and completed postdoctoral training in prevention science at Arizona State University.
