Dr. McDougle is an associate professor in the criminal justice program and director for the Center for Public Policy at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. McDougle received her undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College in psychology, her Master of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in criminal justice and her Ph.D. in developmental psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. McDougle’s primary area of research is program evaluation, project impact and the impact of violent crime on youth and community development. Her research involves working with state and local agencies, service-based organizations, law enforcement agencies to evaluate the efficacy of programs for marginalized communities many of which are offered to residents in communities that suffer many of the negative consequences resulting from poverty.
