I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from Old Dominion University and completed a Master of Divinity from Virginia Union University. I have served as a women’s health nurse practitioner in the Richmond area for over seven years. The majority of my clinical experience has been with minority, uninsured and underserved populations. Currently, I serve as the clinician for a local teen pregnancy prevention clinic.  My research interests include HIV prevention, teen pregnancy prevention and the development of behavioral interventions to address health disparities within communities.
